What is a spicule treatment?

Spicules are microscopic, needle like structures derived from hydrolysed sea sponge. When applied to the skin in a professional treatment, they create thousands of tiny micro-channels, a process sometimes described as liquid bio-microneedling. The channels allow the accompanying actives to travel more effectively into the skin and stimulate a renewal response, while the skin continues to feel the presence of the spicules for a period after the session.

Unlike a device based microneedling treatment, there is no needle cartridge and no machine. The practitioner controls the intensity through product quantity, massage technique and timing, all of which is why proper training matters.

How Green Sea Peel works

Krx Green Sea Peel uses 800,000 ultra fine spicules of 99 percent purity per treatment. The powder, which contains hydrolysed sea sponge and Durvillaea antarctica extract, is mixed with an activator formulated with hyaluronic acid, beta glucan and allantoin. The spicules provide the resurfacing action, while the activator soothes and hydrates, so the treatment combines renewal with barrier support in the same session.

Because the activator is built around soothing ingredients, the brand positions it as suitable for sensitive skin types as well, provided the practitioner assesses the client carefully and adjusts intensity accordingly.
